Refreshing

An extra-large painting created with lively brushstrokes, to bring energy and movement and strong contrasts in colour and composition to draw the viewer in, creating areas of peace and harmony as well as areas of depth and movement. Painted with a renewed appreciation for places that remind me of what is important, what is real, lasting and authentic and inspired by a morning spent walking through my friend’s rose garden with her on a hot summer’s day. I was left with a sense of wellbeing and an appreciation for the beautiful abundance of nature and the blessing of friendship and connection. Sensory overload, the joy of the moment and the memory, the smells and sounds, the peace and the harmony are all explored in this painting through layers of colour and expressive brushstrokes.
