Smelling the roses

A vibrant, colourful painting that takes one into the heart of the rose garden in summer, the hum of the bees, the heady smell of the roses, the sound of the cicadas, the richness and joy of the colours of creation. Painted with a renewed appreciation for places that remind me of what is important, what is real, lasting and authentic and inspired by a morning spent walking through my friend’s rose garden with her on a hot summer’s day. I was left with a sense of wellbeing and an appreciation for the beautiful abundance of nature and the blessing of friendship and connection. Sensory overload, the joy of the moment and the memory, the smells and sounds, the peace and the harmony are all explored in this painting through layers of vibrant colour.
