The song of the sea

“The song of the sea” is inspired by my love of nature and my fascination with the many layers to our lives, who we are, how we respond to the world around us and the complexity and diversity of the world that we live in. In my painting my aim is to paint not only what I see, but rather to express the fullness of the experience. The power, energy and movement of the ocean, the rhythm of the tides, the storms and still seas, the pounding surf, the shrieking seagulls, the gentle breeze and the deafening wind, the summer haze and the drenching rain, and the endless layers of rich and diverse life below the surface of what I see. The magnificent beauty of nature and my sense of wonder at God’s creation are at the heart and soul of this extra-large painting.
